The Ice Dawgs PeeWees team split their games in Bozeman this past weekend. They lost game one on Saturday 6-3 but reversed the score in Sunday’s game for a Glasgow win.
The Dawgs took a 2-1 lead after the first period on the 15, but the home team put in 4 pucks before intermission while holding Glasgow to 1. Bozeman shut out Glasgow in the third while adding one more goal on their side of the scoreboard.
Ian Anderson and Jack Miller scored the two first period goals unassisted. Anderson scored Glasgow’s third goal in the second period, again unassisted.
The Dawgs had 10 penalty minutes on five calls. Carter Holte, hooking, and Hudson Honey, tripping, served time in the second. Miller served time for both interference from the bench and slashing in the third. Holte served a third-period penalty for roughing.
Ira Moore saw 21 shots on his net for a 71.4 save percentage. Glasgow’s offense threw 34 pucks at the Bozeman netminder.
Sunday morning the Ice Dawgs put two pucks per period in net. The held the Ice Dogs to a goal in the first and two in the third period.
Miller scored both first period goals, with an assist from Anderson on the first. Tay Morehouse and Anderson, short-handed, scored in the second. Anderson put in both goals in the final period for Glasgow.
The Ice Dawgs were called for four penalties in the game. Holte and Abigail Henry served time in the first, both for roughing. Morehouse was called for body checking in the second and Honey sat for tripping in the third.
Moore had an 88.9 save percentage, turning away 24 of 27 attempts on his net. The Glasgow offense put 26 pucks on net at the other end of the ice.
Head coach Landon Holte said, “Excited for the rest of the season for the team to keep playing like they have the last couple weekends.”
The PeeWees host Billings this weekend. The Ice Dawgs and the Bulls meet at noon and 8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Valley Event Center.
