Ice Dawg PeeWees Win Two

The Glasgow Ice Dawgs PeeWees team took two games from the visiting Havre Ice Hawks at the Valley Event Center Dec. 8. Glasgow overcame a 2-0 deficit in game one to win 4-2 and won the second game decisively, 7-1.

The Ice Hawks put up two goals in the first period of game before the Dawgs exploded in the second period with four home goals.

Jack Miller put in the first two. Reilly Llewellyn assisted on the first and Hudson Honey helped on the second. Llewellyn scored the next two for the Dawgs. Ellery Dedeobbeleer assisted on his first and Ian Anderson earned the assist on the second.

Ira Moore faced only eight shots between the pipes for Glasgow while his teammates threw 40 pucks at Havre’s goaltender. Honey served the only penalties in the game, sitting in the first period for interference and in the the third for tripping.

Back on clean ice that afternoon, the Ice Dawgs leapt out to an early lead on goals from Carter Holte, assist Dedobbeleer, and Anderson, assist Tay Morehouse. Havre answered with a goal of their own to make the score 2-1 at the end of the first.

Then it was all Glasgow. Abigail Henry, assist Anderson, scored the first of the Dawgs’ two second period goals. Holte scored the second to give the Ice Dawgs a 4-1 lead at intermission.

The Dawgs added three goals in the third to cement their victory. Miller, assist Anderson, scored the first. Holte, assist Henry, followed. Anderson closed out the scoring for Glasgow.

Moore again saw only eight shots as the Dawgs’ netminder while his teammates put up 35 shots on the Hawk’s net.

Each team was called for three infractions. For Glasgow Henry, hooking; Honey, interference and Anderson, tripping, all took seats in the penalty box.

The PeeWee Ice Dawgs travel to Bozeman this weekend. They play at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, and at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 16.
