Nashua Girls Down Lions

The Nashua girls basketball team won their home opener against the Lustre Christian Lions 44-41 on Dec. 17.

The Porcupines overcame a one-point deficit, 12-11, in the first quarter and a 24-19 Lions' lead at the half in their comeback attempt.. They outscored the Lions by a four-point margin in both the third and fourth quarters, 10-6 and 15-11, to win the game.

Tia Dees led the Porcupines in scoring with 19 points. Hadynn Adkins added 10 points, Alexis Murdock 6, Kaitlynn Miller 4 and Deja Morgan scored 2 points.

Adkins fouled out as Nashua amassed 18 fouls in the game, split evenly between the halves. Dees was called for four while Morgan, Miller and Madi Harris had three a piece.

Nashua hosted North Country on Dec. 21, after press time.

The Porcupines host the Dodson Coyotes tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 22 with games starting at 3 p.m.
