Graham Takes Over

Scottie Girls Welcome New Head Coach

When the Glasgow Scottie girls team hits the court this season, fans will see a "new" face directing the team. Cami Graham has stepped into the head coach role.

Graham, in the vein of successful coaches everywhere, sees her job as encompassing more than just the sport she coaches. She said, "We hope to create a positive, competitive environment for the kids to excel on and off the court."

Graham takes over after five years as an assistant coach under former Scottie coach Travis Nielsen. She brings a lifetime of experience on the hardwood to her new position. Graham, who grew up in Terry, Mont., starting playing basketball as a young girl.

The former Terrier went on to play collegiate basketball at Williston as a Teton. After college, Graham put her guard/point guard experience to work from the sidelines as an assistant coach in North Dakota. She moved to Glasgow in 2012.

"We hope to build off the existing program that is in place," Graham said of her plans for the program in Glasgow. She added, "Our goals are to be a top contender in our district and division."
