'Tis the Season...

SPECIAL TO THE COURIER

Thanksgiving is tomorrow so Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Decorations for Thanksgiving and Christmas are going up everywhere!

Oh my, what a time we shall have!

If you are looking for that special gift to give for Christmas, maybe you would enjoy going on an adventure of a road trip!

December 4th and 5th at Virgelle Merc, will be putting on their

“A Real Country Christmas at a Real Country Store!"

All decked out for Christmas!

Ghost Town

Just in case you have never heard of the little ghost town of Virgelle, Mt, go thru Havre and hang a left on US 87.

After passing through Big Sandy, continue about 7 miles and look for the HWY sign to VIRGELLE. Turn left ("Virgelle Ferry Road North") and travel 8 miles on a gravel road to Virgelle.

Our family and the two of us, have been there quite a few times and what a delightful time you will have.

The last time we were there, the neighbor’s had ridden their horses to the Merc to visit, tied them up at the hitching post and had something hot to drink by the huge old time wood burning cook stove in the kitchen. And there will be refreshments served in the kitchen.

The Merc store has so many collectables and antiques and they will have specialty baked goods to boot!

What a great surprise!

We just found out that our grandson is learning cursive in his class at Irle School!

Many elementary schools around the U.S., had slowly eliminated cursive writing from their curriculum.

So when we were told that our grandson was learning cursive, we were really pleased.

Our daughter did say though “hmmm, now I have to find another way to hide what I was writing (special surprises for him) !”

Good on Irle Elementary!

Going Antiquing

Closer to home, we stopped in Malta a almost a week and half ago on our way home from Billings. We checked out Mary Shores Collect'm Antiques store. It’s been awhile and wow! She has so many neat things to see! Check the store out! Make sure you bring a flashlight with you, Mary does have a couple of them but there are places in her shop that is not lit but truly has some hidden treasures to find!

It was great seeing Mickey Esaias, Rob Esaias’s mother while we were in Malta. Rob and his family live here in Saint Marie and is our water and sewer operator.

Last week was a trip to Billings for medical checkups and all went well for us, however my new mom Cardiologist was having mixed emotions about the Covid vaccine.

She had to have the “jab” but her worry is having the young children go through it.

She said that the Cardiology department in Billings Clinic is inundated with children coming down with inflammation of the heart due to the vaccine.

All I can say is “choose wisely.”

Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm!
