Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Basement Renovations Complete at Glasgow City-County Library

Include New ADA Family-Sized Restrrom and Kitchenette

The basement renovations at the Glasgow City-County Library have been completed, with a new ADA family-sized restroom and a kitchenette.

These new additions will be beneficial for library staff and public use during special programs, events, meetings and any other library occasions.

The restroom is near the overflow area where the newspapers, magazines and reference materials are located.

This project has been in the planning stages for several years. The goal of the library staff is to do the best they can to serve their patrons and community.

The staff of the Glasgow City-County Library would like to take this opportunity to thank all organizations that supported the building renovations.

The library was awarded a grant from the Valley County Community Foundation, while the Valley County Friends of the Library provided funding. The library also was gifted a generous donation from the Wesen Family for building improvements, and additional money was used from Coal Severance Tax monies.

Without the support of the community, maintaining and updating the library building would not have been possible.

A special thank you to Overseer, Roger Waarvick, CZD Construction, Mattfeldt Electric, All Seasons Home Center, Prewett Interiors and Lee Riddick Plumbing and Heating.

The staff loves their finished areas and feel blessed to have professionals in the area to provide such excellent craftmanship, they said.

Now that things are finished, the staff welcomes patrons to stop by and see the new improvements.

It is their hope that sometime this spring they can safely host an open house to showcase the library.

We are so fortunate and blessed to live in such a caring community that understands the importance and value of our services.
