What the Hay!

Adventures in St. Marie

Sad news for all of you fans of the Montana Hay Bale Trail: What the Hay!

Our family always would make the trek to Hobson and Windham (Mt Hyw 239 and 541) the first Sunday after Labor Day.

But last year with the COVID, they decided to cancel to be safe for the people planning the event.

This year, 2021, the planning committee thought they would have the Hay Bale, but due to the drought conditions, it was canceled this year too.

Just a little history on the Hale Bale, in 1989 there was a challenge between two of the local ranchers of who could do the best sculpture out of hay bales. Well, this challenge grew to include over 40 individual sculptures which also included a fun vendor fair.

Hopefully 2022 will be a better year for all of us and we can once again have fun at the What the Hay!

Saint Marie Thrift Store

Last Friday, the 10th of September, we went into the Thrift Store and my goodness! Do they have a lot of things in there!

Lindsay Davis is the store's manager and sadly, we missed meeting her that day but had the pleasure to meet her two sisters Jennifer and Mary Emma.

Very sweet, nice young ladies.

Lindsay stated they have been a great help to her at the store and also at the store was a very nice woman by the name of Joyce who Lindsay said was a huge help to her.

"We have so many donations from this year and are incredibly blessed and thankful!"

Lindsay also admitted it has been a little overwhelming at times with all the donations but they are rearranging the main part of the store and working on rearranging the two smaller rooms to gain more shelf space and apologized that at the time we were there, things were out of place because of the attempt to rearrange the store.

The store is "like" Goodwill/thrift store and so many different items from clothes/shoes, kitchen items, baby/children's items, holiday items, furniture and list goes on and on.

Come check it out, you just might find some treasures!

Days/times are: Thursday-Friday 1-4 pm and Saturday from 1-6 pm.

North Valley county water and sewer

We are assuming that all condo owners in Saint Marie received a letter and copy of a resolution that was passed and adopted on July 6, 2021. This new resolution states, Quote: Due to substantial expense due to sewer backups and clogs due to negligence of unit owners, renters, resident etc. they have decided that if the sewage and sewer line is flowing free from a building to the main sewer line, then any sewer line problem within the unit is the responsibility of the owner and not the Water/Sewer District. There are a couple of options for the unit owner which you can call the North Valley County Water/Sewer District to get those options.
