The Lustre Lions volleyball team hosted the Glasgow Scotties JV squad in their home opener on Sept. 2. Lustre dropped the match 19-25, 4-25, 23-25.
“Our girls were thrown a few curveballs this week with rotation changes and people not able to play in our game …,” said Lustre head coach Madison Neufeld. “They were able to tackle those challenges and greatly improved in their play. We took some huge steps forward in comparison to our play in the Culbertson tournament.”
Grace Brown led the Lions in kills with two. Alexa Reddig had three blocks and five digs in the match. Aubri Holzrichter notched seven aces and three assists for Lustre.
Neufeld added, “I was overjoyed by the improvement and heart that the girls played with and I’m eager to see how they continue to improve in the coming games.”
The Lions hosted the Wolf Point JV squad on Tuesday, but scores were unavailable at press time.
Lustre hosts Savage on Friday, Sept. 10, with game time scheduled for 5 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 11, the team will participate in the Scobey Invitational.
