Frazer Cross Country Competes in Poplar

The Frazer Bearcubs took four high school girls to the Poplar Invitational on Sept. 4 while the junior high team boasted 10 girls and three boys.

Alyssa Toce Blount led the high school Bearcubs with a time of 26:23.42. The junior earned a 25th place finish. Sophomore Shakira Beston finished in fifth place with a time of 28:14.11. Sophomores Angel Nelligan and Kalianna Toce Blount finished in 47th and 50th places, respectively. Nelligan ran a 29:09.32 and Toce Blount ran the race in 29:28.70.

Bryce Even, sixth grader, placed 38th in the boys middle school 1.5-mile race with his time of 11:48.15. Eighth-grader Cassius Smoker ran a 12:08.47 to finish in 43rd place while Ronald Roundface, sixth grader, finished in 46th place with a 12:34.61.

Sixth-grader Raelene Brock was first among the Frazer girls middle school team. She placed 38th with a time of 12:35.93. Isabelle Even, eighth-grader, finished in 12:49.32 for 40th place. Sixth-grader Elli Mail ran a 13:21.13 to finish in 43rd place. Aubrey Mail, also sixth grade, finished in 51st place with a time of 14:35.08. Madison Knowlton, sixth grade, ran a 15:25.59 to finish in 59th place.

Madison Garfield, sixth grade, ran a 16:14.90 to take 64th place. Seventh-grader Lola Romero finished in 68th place with a time of 17:11.77. Sixth graders Mila Smoker, Katherine Roundface and Bethany Hotomanie placed 74th, 75th and 76th, respectively. Smoker ran a 19:33.44, Roundface a 19.38.90 and Hotomanie a 25:04.18.

The Bearcubs cross country team will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Glasgow Invitational at Kiwanis Park in Fort Peck.
