911 Calls

There were 10 accidental/prank calls, 12 dog/cat control calls, six hazard calls, 14 motor vehicle stops, three inspection requests, four reports for record, 12 animal control calls, six assist citizen/public assists and one alarm/business call.

MONDAY, JULY 25

• 0918 – Caller reported that sometime last night someone into her father's vehicle while it sat in the driveway, doesn't know if anything has been taken yet. An officer advised that there appears to be two vehicles at this time involved. The neighbor vehicle had also been broken into. The officer stated that nothing appears to have been taken at this time. It was commented that things that were important were still where they were left in the vehicles. The officer believes there may be more calls associated to this incident coming in later.

• 1532 – Calling party reported a vehicle with stuff in the back. She described it as a business truck traveling at a high rate of speed, at least 90 mph. It is westbound and passing vehicles on the right side. She states it has passed at least three or four vehicles this way. She is willing to sign a statement. A deputy was unable to locate the vehicle.

• 1623 – Opheim Road Department employee called and stated someone reported to him there was a bale of hay blocking the road. He was headed there with a tractor to remove it. He wanted to know if anyone called about it. He called back to state the actual location and it is cleared but he is going to travel farther to make sure there is no more hay on the road.

• 1947 – A woman wanting to talk to an officer about her ex leaving the 9 and 10 YO children home by themselves for hours at a time. Notified an officer. The officer spoke to the woman, will add narrative.

• 2039 – FC called. NWE notified. NWE will respond, unsure if it is their line but will respond anyways. Notified Norval, they will let their guys know about this. A man has the combination for the gate if anoyone needs it. A man with Norval called back for more information, unsure if it is there. Another man was quite certain it is NWE lines. Norval will wait for NWE to call them as he is headed to Lustre for an outage. NWE cut down all the branches and made sure it was good. All units clear.

• 2221 – A woman reporting an air boat out bow fishing on dredge #2 and is really loud. Per FG, not a violation as long as they have nav lights. Said if deputy can get them to quiet down some would be good. A deputy said boat is just going around the dredge trying to shoot fish, not going fast, will call RP. Per deputy, spoke to RP, could not get to a spot to talk to air boat.

MONDAY, JULY 26

• 1816 – Card started at a deputy's request of a complaint already on file. Deputy said a woman made a walk-in complaint around 4:30 about noise from the air boat noise last night.

• 2143 – A man reported that a vehicle broke down just west of Creature Feature hill. The vehicle is halfway up the hill and part way in the driving lane. He wanted to know if an officer could do traffic control while he tows the vehicle.

TUESDAY, JULY 27

• 0133 – A woman reporting she was driving by the Oasis and looked back and saw two guys fighting outside the Rundle. Log a PBT of 0.171 for a man. Lot a PBT of 0.330 for another man. Per officer a third man wandered off, trying to find him. Per the officer a fourth man walking the second man home. Citations issued to the three men for disorderly, one obstruction citation pending for the first man who possibly let someone out of the back of the officer's car. Per the officer, cleaned up all of the blood from the back of his patrol car.

• 0938 – Male called stating he has been scammed by someone in Glasgow. He states a male sold him and his daughter a cat they were supposed to pick up at JFK airport last Sunday. The cat was found on a website listed as [email protected]. The caller stated that he sent $2400 for the purchase and transport of this animal. The cat was not sent and he can not get his money back. He stated he sent the money through cash app. Dispatch asked if he had been in contact with the Cash App customer service and he stated he was informed that once the money was sent it is final. The caller stated Google Maps gave him a listing of an address in Glasgow, Mont., for the location of this person he was doing business with.

• 1049 – Caller stated his neighbor's dog was being a menace and he was getting ready to discharge his 9MM. Dispatch told him not do this and they would put him in touch with an officer to speak with. Transferred his call to a deputy and answered another call coming into dispatch. At 1048 the deputy called and asked if dispatch took the call from the RP. The deputy stated the reporting party called him and stated he discharged his 9MM into the ground and the dog did go home.

• 1057 – Female called in speaking fast and wanting to know about the stolen vehicle and the person we have here. She started to explain she was kidnapped and that the individual took the keys to the vehicle and wouldn't give them back. Dispatch explained to her that she can't report this as stolen and that the owner of the car would have to do that. As of now the car has not been reported stolen and dispatch let the RO of the vehicle know that this investigation was through the Highway Patrol. Gave them the non emergency number to Highway Patrol to contact the officer in charge of this.

• 1131 – Female caller wants to speak to an officer about people driving dirt bikes and four wheelers and side by sides on the dike all evening and into the night. She also wants to know what to do about the people speeding around on 6th Ave S. She wants to know if the officers will put a up a speed trap. Advised an officer of this.

• 1405 – Caller wanted to speak to an officer about a bench that went missing over the weekend. It was a memorial bench, wooden with Chevrolet back rest. Card started per deputy request.

• 1948 – Glasgow Weather Service said their radar is indicating a potential fire 3-5 miles north of Vandalia. He said it's rather large. He would like a call back if dispatch finds anything. Dispatch advised LRFD Chief of the call, she wasn't aware of anything. She requested to send a deputy to check on this before sending any trucks. If dispatch gets any more alls, then page the trucks. A deputy advised he's going to call a man because he might know someone out there. Unable to reach the man. Deputy advised that he reached another man who will drive that way to check on it and call the deputy back. Dispatch advised LRFD Chief and Weather Service that they didn't see any fire.

• 2334 – RP called and said he wanted to make a report, because he doesn't want the car he just purchased to be called in as stolen and he doesn't want to get in trouble. He bought a car but the man gave him a title that was not in the seller's name. When the RP went to register the vehicle, the treasure office told him he had to give the title back to the seller. The seller then had to register the vehicle in his name and then give the resulting title to the RP which then could be registered to the RP. The RP took the title back to the seller and got a bill of sale for the vehicle. Now the seller is talking about coming and getting the vehicle, no mention of giving the RP his money back. RP wants to speak to an officer.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 28

• 0743 – MT DOT advised there is an abandoned vehicle. Tried running the truck plate and got no matching vehicles to come back. Got hold of the RO to see about getting it moved. A deputy advised he spoke to a woman, her son is working on getting the truck moved. He told her if they need any assistance to call and he will go out and provide traffic control since it is by the hill.

• 1318 – A woman reported a subject hitchhiking. He is going out into the lane of traffic. She stated if there had been anyone coming she would have hit him. A deputy advised this subject is going to Malta. He is walking two miles then resting. The deputy advised him to stay out of the lane of travel for safety reasons.

• 1425 – A woman called in stating she is getting calls from a man. He is threatening to kill her when he gets out of jail. She states he goes to court on the 3rd. Dispatch advised her they would have an officer call her back. She also stated she needs to know where the keys are to the vehicle he stole from her husband.

• 1659 – Received a call from a woman identifying herself (Note: the caller id showed the name of the woman from the 1425 call.) Dispatch was just finishing up with another call so asked if they could put her on hold briefly. She said it's an emergency. Advised her that dispatch would be right back with her. Dispatch immediately returned to the caller. She said she needs a job application. She then went on to complain about someone in our jail that stole a vehicle. Dispatch asked if the vehicle was reported stolen by the owner and she said yes. She wanted to talk to someone. Dispatch put her on hold and contacted a deputy. She hung up in the meantime.

• 1435 – A man called in stating he needed to speak to someone in the fraud or scam department. Dispatch advised we don't have those departments. He states he ordered three items from Montgomery Ward. He has paid for them and they keep calling him saying he hasn't paid. He states he has the receipts showing he has paid. He stated he paid by money order.

• 1438 – A man reported a grass fire east of the grain elevators. He said it is about 5 miles east of the grain elevators and about a mile south. 1437: another male reported the same. He said it is in a field with nothing around it. He reported it to be about 400 feet long right now with active flame about three feet tall. He is unsure how wide it is. Paged Nashua. Spoke with LRFD Chief, she stated to page Long Run as well. Called BIA FD, he has three units responding from Frazer.

• 1458 – Received a call from a woman saying there is a fire in Frazer. Dispatch gave her the location of this fire and she said she thinks the fire she is talking about is in the town of Frazer. She is going to go and check it out then give a call back with a location. She isn't sure where exactly it would be or what is on fire. Gave this information over the radio just as a heads up so they are aware of a possible second fire.

• 1504 – The same female called back to report the fire that has already been dispatched. Clarified with her that there isn't a fire in Frazer. She said no fire in Frazer, it is a fire at MM 569. 1632: Nashua back in town.

• 1528 – The caller reported that there's a man walking in the middle of the westbound land headed westbound. He's approximately 8 miles west of Glasgow by the historical sign. Everything is 10-4.

• 1756 – A man reported that he heard an explosion about five minutes ago and then their power went out. He believes a transformer blew. Advised an officer and notified Northwestern Energy. The man called back. He found the transformer that blew. He said there's no sparking.

THURSDAY, JULY 29

• 0904 – A woman called in stating they had a gas drive off, $20.06. Caller states the woman tried to pay at the pump, then came in and tried to pay but her card wouldn't work. She then just left. An officer advised he spoke to the [woman] and she is going back to pay.

• 1113 – A woman called in stating she was at the gas station, a vehicle came there, there were four males. They each came in and used the bathroom and stayed in there a long time. They wore masks that came just under their eyes and she didn't think these were regular COVID masks. They all also had what she believed to be gang tattoos. She just thought they were suspicious.

• 1238 – A woman requested a a welfare check on her mother as she hasn't been able to get in touch with her in an hour. She states she has called her 13 times. A deputy advised it looks like the big door is open. Deputy advised while he was knocking on the door a lady was waving at him down the street. The mother is going to get her phone and call her daughter, she was down the street visiting a neighbor.

• 1321 – A woman advised they have a dog bite victim in the ER. The dog was known to him and is vaccinated.

• 1850 – A man reported a vehicle that's doing between 85-90 MPH. Dispatch asked if he wanted to sign a complaint. He said if the officers clock him, he doesn't have to. He said if the officer just pulls the driver over, they can call him and then he'll decide.

• 1914 – The man called wanting to know if the officers stopped this vehicle. He wasn't too happy that it wasn't stopped. He said if someone called a complaint about him, he would've been pulled over so fast. Advised him that officers were out looking for the vehicle.

• 1933 – The man called back to let dispatch know that the officer caught the vehicle doing 79 MPH. He also wanted to thank dispatch.

• 1927 – Onstar called to let dispatch know that they have a vehicle that was involved in an accident at US 2 and Nashua. No injuries. Caller said the airbags deployed. There's no blockage. She then connected dispatch with the occupant.

• 2017 – A woman reported that an intoxicated woman sat next to her at a casino. The woman told her that she wanted to get more drunk. The woman is now sending text messages to people stating that the caller stole $500 from her. Patched her up with an officer. The officer is going to her residence to see the text messages.

FRIDAY, JULY 30

• 0026 – RP called to add this report regarding his purchase of a car. The seller keeps pushing back the day he is going to pay the fees related to putting the title into his (the seller's) name, and then transferring the title to the buyer. Now the seller has promised to pay these fees by August 5 because that's near his payday. The seller has promised to give the buyer the new title when he gets it. RP just wants this on record in case it draws out for a couple of months.

• 1405 – Border Patrol agent from Opheim called in stating they have a female subject there who has a warrant out of Cascade County. He called them and confirmed the warrant with a dispatcher. He needs an officer to respond to pick this person up. A deputy served the warrant.

• 2125 – A man reported that someone has a big fire going by the Duck Creek fish cleaning station and to the left. Advised a deputy who requested dispatch confirm with someone that we are still under a burn ban. Spoke with LRFD Chief, she confirmed that we are still under stage 1 restrictions but it's OK to use a campfire or burn in a ring. She said any open burning without a ring is a violation of the ban. Advised the deputy of this.

• 2134 – the deputy advised that he believes he found the fire that the man called about but it's in a designated fire ring.

• 2320 – A deputy said he heard on the scanner that there was a missing child in Frazer and wanted to know if RCSO needed any help. Dispatch called RCSO and asked if their Tribal officers needed any help, dispatcher said, "The more the merrier," and that they would appreciate the help.

• 2333 – the deputy advised the child was found, the TOs are all 10-8 and he is clear of this call.

SATURDAY, JULY 31

• 0246 – An officer advised he would in front of Albertsons checking the welfare of an individual passed out on the bench. Officer advised everything is 10-4, the individual is just resting.

• 0346 – A deputy advised he is out with the individual from the previous call, who is now lying in the parking lot.

• 0840 – Received a 911 call from a couple who reported a vehicle all over the road. They reported the vehicle is down in the ditch and back up on the roadway. Another couple reported the same. Both couples are willing to write statements. A deputy advised to log a BAC of .268.

• 1408 – A woman advised she found someone had thrown a rock through her camper window. She isn't sure when it happened as she has been gone from Memorial Day through last Wednesday.

• 1454 – A man and woman are currently going through a divorce. He is trying to leave the residence but she is not allowing him to get his stuff or unlock the car so he can get his items out of there either. He requested an officer at the residence. The man has left, he was told this is civil.

• 1533 – A woman reported a fire north of Glasgow. They are up looking at their old homestead and the pickup started on fire which then started the grass on fire. She said the old homestead is the only thing that might be in the path of the fire but it is an old abandoned structure. 1600: FireCommand fire is contained, in mop up.

• 1813 – Roosevelt County received a report of a grass fire and telephone pole on fire somewhere between Frazer and Oswego. Paged Nashua/Frazer/BIA via text page and paged Nashua on the radio. Notified Long Run Chief. Called Norval and made them aware. • 1836 – Have the land owner with a brush truck, it's going to be in mop up now.

• 1825 – A woman called to report a fire just starting on the west side of Highway 24N. Paged out St. Marie. A deputy advised he was just a mile away but will be on scene.

• 1831 – Deputy advised he has driven the area and was unable to find a fire. St. Marie checked the area and confirmed there wasn't a fire.

• 2126 – A man called in stating there is an air boat that is very loud. He believes they are out paddle fishing. They are by the bridge now but they go back and forth between the first and second dredge. A deputy advised he can see and hear this boat but is unable at this time to get their attention. He will keep trying. 2210: Deputy advised he got their attention and they are using the trolling motor now.

• 2207 – A man called in stating he is with a van that hit a couple deer. It did enough damage that the van has no power and is stuck in the road. He is trying to flag cars so they don't hit this vehicle, but needs help.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 1

• 1226 – A man called in on 911 and stated it wasn't an emergency. Dispatch called him back on the non emergency line. He called to report he was just in an accident. He stated that he was driving by when the other vehicle backed into him.

• 1504 - A woman received a phone call from someone claiming to be with Publisher's Clearinghouse. He said he would arrive at her house with a check but couldn't tell her where she lived. When she asked he said she lived in Glasgow and she said she doesn't. He told her they would discuss it tomorrow morning. She just wanted it on record that they are calling.

• 1525 – A deputy forwarded a tip he received on the VCSO sheriff app.

• 1829 – A deputy spoke with a man about his concerns over posts being made on the facebook regarding his daughter. The deputy notified the man these were from fake facebook accounts.

• 1901 – A man called in stating there are some kids at grain elevators and they are throwing rocks at the elevators and the pigeons. He states all the windows have already been broken out and he has vehicles parked over. Three cited for minor in possession of tobacco products.

• 2048 – An officer requested a card and will be trying to contact probation and parole. The officer got a hold of intake for probation and parole and they are working now on getting a 72 hour hold on a man.

• 2144 – A deputy advised there is no damage to this vehicle so he let them go but will dispatch the two deer on the side of the road. Left a message for MT DOT about these deer. The deputy called in to advise the driver refused a crash report since there was no damage to the vehicle.
