Florence Viola (Paus) Morey went to be an angel of God at the age of 94 on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at the Big Sandy Medical Center. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 22, 2021, at the Opheim Community Church.

Florence was born on December 19, 1923, in Scobey, Montana, to Roy and Mabel (Fahlin) Paus. She was raised in Avondale and Opheim, graduating from Opheim High School.
She attended Kinman Business University in Spokane, WA, where she met Henry Morey who was on leave from the Navy.
She married Henry on January 23, 1947, in Opheim. They made their home in Opheim, where Henry partnered with his parents-in-law in their family store, and Florence taught at the rural school in Baylor for a year until the children came.
After her children started school, Florence went back to work, this time providing meals at Opheim School.
In the 1990's, Henry retired due to health problems, and he passed away in 1996.
At that time, Florence resided at Nemont Manor, where she enjoyed visiting friends.
In 2016, she moved to the Big Sandy Care Home to be near her son Dale and daughter-in-law Micki. There, she enjoyed her new friends and going to Dale's home where she enjoyed her great-grandsons and great-granddaughter outside under the trees.
Florence enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, traveling, caring for her houseplants, and reading.
She loved to sing, and she also played the organ for church services for many years at the Lutheran Church in Opheim. In addition to the organ, Florence played several musical instruments, including the piano, trumpet, and violin. S
he was a social butterfly who loved to host card parties and church socials. She passed down her love of playing cards by playing with her family.
Florence was a classy lady who never looked less than her best.
She was preceded in death by Henry, her husband of 49 years; sons, Royal, Jim, and Mike; parents, Roy and Mabel Paus; and brother Royal Paus.
Florence is survived by her son, Dale (Micki) Morey of Big Sandy; daughter-in-law, Pat Morey; her six grandchildren, Keri (Shane) Cox, Mindy (Rob) Collehon, Dalynn (Bryon) West, Karen (Thomas) Hertenstein, Tori Morey, Katie (Frank) Hicks, and Kirstin (Tyler) Culpepper; nine great-grandchildren, Sam, Wes, Tristan, Jack, Autumn, Bubba, Nathaniel, Ethan, and Aiden; niece, Viola (Pat) Riccardi; and nephew, Richard (Debbie) Paus.
