911 Calls May 31 to June 6, 2021

There were 18 motor vehicle stops, four barking/lost/loose cat/dog calls, five loose/dead livestock calls, one VIN inspection request, four public assists, two parking violations and one hazard call.

MONDAY, MAY 31

• 1259 – Caller wants an officer to respond. She just got to the thrift store and noticed the front door was wide open. The lock was still intact. There was also a padlock thrown through the window. She hasn't checked the other side yet.

TUESDAY, JUNE 1

• 1124 – Caller reported he got a call from someone claiming to be from Publisher's Clearing House. He stated he didn't give any information and the people calling got discouraged and hung up. He just wanted this on record.

• 1139 – Caller reported a two-vehicle accident with no injuries. The caller stated she is not feeling well and having a hard time focusing and backed into a truck in the parking lot.

• 1605 – Caller reporting that last Monday her back window of her vehicle was broken at the school between 1215 and 1310. Upon reviewing their video, they have found who did it. The caller would like to visit with an officer to make a report.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 2

• 0442 – Male RP called and said there is a man laying in the exit lane for the rest area. He said there is also a black calf out about a mile west of the rest stop. The RP said the man had no baggage and he thought he might be a hitchhiker. Dispatch notified a deputy regarding the man laying in the roadway of the exit to the rest area. Called the owner regarding the black calf out and he will check on it. The deputy advised he located the individual and will be out with him on portable.

• 0823 – A male called in to report a vehicle that passed him going westbound. He stated it was a solid yellow line and he believes the vehicle was going approximately 70 mph. The caller stated he was going 45 mph at the time. He states the vehicle turned and went under the underpass and that was the last he saw of it. He got a plate number and is willing to sign a complaint. A deputy was unable to locate the vehicle in town so he was going to the listed address to see if he sees the vehicle there. A deputy advised a statement was collected and that he left a voicemail for the registered owner of the vehicle.

• 1147 – Female caller advised there are three campers stuck at the north side of the underpass. An officer advised the underpass is clear.

• 1313 – Female called in stating she was contacted by a subject who stated she is with the El Paso PD, she gave her name and badge number. She told the reporting part that they had found a vehicle registered to her that has drug and blood residue in it as well as drug paraphernalia. She told the RP that unless she cooperated with them on this and answered all their questions they would freeze her bank accounts, her SSN. This subject then had her talk to another person who she said was with the DEA. He gave his name and badge number as well. They told her the case number and that she needed to call them back within one hour. They gave her a call back number. The reporting party stated she did not give them any of her personal information but they did ask her for the names of all her bank accounts. She gave them the names of two of her banks. They also asked her for all the vehicles that has registered to her and she did. She also called her bank and let them know about this call and they will freeze her account or watch it for any suspicious activity. Dispatch called the number the reporting party gave. A male subject answered the call. Dispatch could hear other people in the background. Dispatch asked who they were speaking with. When dispatch said they worked for the Valley County Sheriff's office, the subject hung up. Dispatch called the RP back and let them know this was a scam. Dispatch notified an officer.

• 1537 – Caller had received a notification on his computer. It showed someone or a business in Thailand was wanting to get over $19,000 from him. He printed off the paperwork and took it to Wells Fargo Bank. They told him it was a scam and they didn't get any money from him.

• 1659 – A female reported that her husband told her that there's a vehicle accident. Her husband told her that there's nobody in the vehicle but they left their dogs behind. She said the dogs are going to die if someone doesn't do something for them. A deputy advised he's out with the RP. The subject involved is at a residence in Glasgow and has a baby with him. Dispatch also notified Helena HP. The deputy requested the fire department because they can smell fuel. The deputy requested dispatch send an ambulance to a residence for a 10-month-old that was involved in the accident. At 1846 the two truck had the vehicle. The dogs were released to a parent of the RO vehicle.

• 1854 – A male reported that a neighbor's house is on fire. There may be people inside. A female also reported the same fire. Also had a 911 call but the caller hung up before dispatch could get to them. Dispatch got an answer from the 911 caller, she reported the propane tank blew up. The fire started with the BB-Q. Dispatch also notified MDU and Northwestern Energy.

• 2005 – An officer advised that around the time of the fire call, a fire hose nozzle fell off and hit a vehicle doing quite a bit of damage.

• 2130 – The caller reported a vehicle that's all over the road. The caller is willing to sign a complaint.

THURSDAY, JUNE 3

• 1554 – The caller reported that there's a man that they want removed. The man has a bottle of vodka and water. An officer advised this individual has moved on.

• 1734 – Caller reported that there's a train on fire. First he said it went through Glasgow and then he said it already went through Hinsdale and is headed eastbound. It was Dispatch's understanding that the train was almost to Glasgow. Dispatch tried to find out what was on fire and he said it looks like lumber. He said he tried to get their attention but couldn't. Dispatch notified BN to get the train stopped. Caller reported that the train went through Hinsdale and is about 4 miles past Hinsdale. Updated BN and the responders. The male called back and would like them to stop the train at the Vandalia crossing. He wants the train conductor to get in the vehicle with him so they can drive along the train. Updated BN and the responders. The male called and said he has the conductor with him. There's no fire on the train. Notified all responders.

• 2042 – Female caller said someone made a complaint about a pony being in a horse trailer for three days. She wants to know who made the complaint a complnd she wants to make aaint about them. Patched her up with an officer.

FRIDAY, JUNE 4

• 1134 – A female called in stating her neighbor's trailer is on fire. She states it is across the creek from them. Dispatch asked if anyone was inside the trailer. She said he could be as his vehicle is there. FC requested another page out for a quick attack rig. LRFD paged. A male called in stating he is out at the fire, which is heading east into the trees and to a nearby residence. LRFD paged again for more units to respond. Received a 911 call from the female caller again stating they need help on their side of the creek as embers are landing on their roof.

SATURDAY, JUNE 5

• 0938 – Caller reported seeing a male she doesn't recognize hanging around the house they are remodeling. He appeared to be going through things in the front yard associated with the remodel. She states she didn't see him get out of a vehicle or the house. She assumes he just walked up to the area. An officer was notified who drove around but couldn't find anyone.

• 1053 – Caller states that when he went to get his boat out of storage today he thought he smelt fuel and then noticed his fuel lines appear to have been cut. He states when he put the boat into the storage unit two weeks ago everything was fine.

• 1414 – A store employee called about a gas drive off. She states a male swiped his card and it didn't go through. She went out and told him . He stated he understood. Th employee got busy and when she looked out again, the truck was gone.

SUNDAY, JUNE 6

• 0054 – Out with a Fish and Game officer at Round House PT.
