District 3C Track & Field

The District 3C track meet was held May 15 with Wolf Point playing host. Whitewater ran away with the girls top slot while Scobey dominated the boys field. Hinsdale, Lustre Christian and Nashua will all be sending competitors to the Eastern C Divisional meet in Sidney this Saturday, May 22, as will Opheim, who had a handful of athletes competing on the unified Scobey-Opheim team. The Scobey girls took second place with 120 points, followed by Saco, 100; Hinsdale, 83; Nashua, 43 and Lustre Christian, 42. The Hinsdale boys snagged second place with 136 points, followed by Lustre Christian, 73; Nashua, 26; Whitewater, 18 and Dodson and Saco with one point each.

HINSDALE

The hot spring day saw a number of personal records set and a couple of district records fall. Hinsdale's Kaitlyn McColly set a new District 3C record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.19. She bested Hinsdale's Linda McColly, who had previously set the record. The Raider standout also won the pole vault with a personal record of 10-07.00, and set a new District 3C record with the height.

McColly also notched wins in the 300m hurdles, with a personal record of 45.61; long jump, 16-08.50 and triple jump, 34-06.50 (PR). The Hinsdale senior was joined on the points board by freshman Zora Holt, who took fourth in the 1600m (6:45.05) and second in the 3200m (14:48.75). Mattea McColly earned a point with a sixth place finish in the discus with a throw of 82-06 and Zandora Longtree earned a third place in the javelin with a personal record throw of 100-08. Cienna Strommen set a PR in the pole vault and finished in fourth with a height of 7-00.

The Raider girls relay teams also added points to the teams total. Ashton Smith, Montaya Idler, Strommen and Longtree combined to finish fourth in the 4x100 relay event with a time of 1:14.11 and the 4x400 relay team of Kodi Boone, Longtree, Holt and M. McColly place third with a time of 5:23.90.

The Hinsdale boys team, led by Loden Idler, Trey Johnson and Jesse Lee, took a number of top slots at the meet. Idler and Lee were neck and neck in the 100m and 200m races though Idler had the slight edge in both. Idler set a personal record in the 100m at 11.34 while Lee finished in 11.70. Idler's 23.96 earned him first in the 200m with Lee in second with at time 24.05. Lee won the 400m with a personal record of 52.27.

Jeremy Longtree placed third in the 800m with a personal record of 2:26.03 while teammate Aiden Albus placed fourth with a time of 2:27.58. Longtree also turned in a 6:03.41 for fourth in the 1600m. Johnson won both the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles, setting personal records in both. He ran the 110m in 17.31 and the 300m in 46.11.

In throwing events, Lee earned another first place, throwing a personal record 44-07.50 in the shot put. Jeremy Longtree threw a personal record 100-07 in the discus for third place while Johnson claimed fourth with a throw of 98-06. Albus took sixth place with 96-02. Johnson was third in the javelin with a throw of 134-01 and Idler took sixth with his throw of 122-08.

Lee won the hight jump, clearing 6-00. Idler and Johnson took third and fifth in the pole vault, respectively. Idler cleared 12-00, a personal record, and Johnson cleared 10-06. Idler also notched a first-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 19-08.

NASHUA

The Nashua girls team placed a number of their athletes on the podium in both track and field events. Tia Dees and Devin Fromdahl continued to lead the team with their placing in throwing events. Dees placed third in the shot put with a throw of 31-07.25 and Fromdahl was in fourth with a season record of 29-10.75. The two Porcupines were joined by Hadynn Adkins in fifth place with a throw of 28-07.00 and Hannah Toavs in sixth with a throw of 28-06.50. Dees took second in the discus with a throw of 96-11 and Fromdahl was right behind her in third at 95-03.

Toavs earned a sixth place in the 100m with at ime of 14.52. Alyssa Murdock took sixth in the 1600m, finishing in 7:27.54, and fourth in the 3200m with a personal record of 15:48.95. Keelyn Skolrud, Adkinns, Fromdahl and Toavs took third in the 4x100 relay with a time of 1:00.48 while Murdock, Adkins, Dees and Deja Morgan finished fourth in the 4x400 relay with a time of 5:35.42.

The Porcupine boys points came from field events, with the exception of Kevan Viste's fifth place finish in the 400m (1:07.13). Fletcher Clampitt earned multiple points in the throwing events, finishing fifth in shot put (36-03.50), second in discus (108-00, PR) and fifth in javelin (128-06). Xander Pugh set a personal record and finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 36-09.25. The Nashua sophomore also placed third in the high jump, clearing 5-06.

LUSTRE CHRISTIAN

Alexa Redding, Aubri Holzrichter and Tiara Whitmus scored 42 points for the Lion girls team. Redding placed fifth in the 100m with a time of 14.17 and fourth in the 200m with a personal record of 30.01. She also set a personal record and finished third in the long jump with a distance of 13-10.50. Holzrichter placed sixth in the 400m with a time 1:14.54 and sixth in the 800m with a personal record of 2:54.21. Whitmus won the discus with a personal record of 110-03. The Lustre senior also claimed second in the shot put with a personal record of 33-09 and fifth in the javelin with a throw of 95-09.

Jasiah Hambira claimed the only first place finish for the Lustre boys, winning the triple jump with a personal record of 39-08.00. The sophomore placed second in the long jump, 18-05.00, and second in the high jump, 5-10.00. On the track, he took second with a personal record of 53.39 in the 400m and finished third in the 200m at 24.38.

Braeden Toavs and Sean Uy also earned a trip to the podium in the 200m. Toavs finished fifth with a time of 26.51 and Uy set a personal record of 27.60 to claim sixth place. Toavs was also fifth in the 800m, setting a personal record of 2:28.10. Teammate Cayden Klatt set a personal record and finished in second place with his time of 2:23.26. Klatt earned more points for the Lions, taking third places in the 1600m (5:40.38) and the 3200m (12:57.38). Uy, Klatt, Arun Ramnarace and Toavs joined forces to take second in the 4x100 relay, finishing in 51.90.

"I was so proud of our athletes at District," said head coach Lynn Unrau. "They all performed really well." She added the team is looking forward to the Divisional meet on Thursday in Sidney and she hopes to see a few of her athletes move on to the State tournament.

OPHEIM (SCOBEY)

Opheim athletes Mandy Fuhrmann and Carrie Taylor earned points as members of the unified Scobey-Opheim girls team, while fellow Opheim students Cole Taylor, Damian Cable and Bo Anderson put points up for the boys team.

Fuhrmann set a personal record in the 100m hurdles and placed sixth with her time of 19.24. The junior also took second in the high jump, clearing 4-08, and fourth in the long jump with a personal record leap of 13-07.50. Carrie Taylor took fifth in the discus with a throw of 83-11 and sixth in the javelin with a throw of 95-08.

Cole Taylor claimed two individual first places, winning the 1600m and 3200m. He ran the races in 5:25.02 and 11:11.48, respectively. Cable placed fourth in the 3200m with a personal record of 16:33.71. Cole Taylor also ran a leg of the 4x400 relay, and helped his team finish in first place with a time of 3:55.01.

In throwing events, Cole Taylor continued to earn points. The junior threw a personal record 96-02 in the discus and finished in fifth. He threw another personal record in the javelin, earning fourth with a throw of 130-08. Anderson set a personal record in the long jump, 18-01.00, and placed third. He was second in the triple jump with a distance of 38-00.00.

The Eastern C Divisional track meet will be Sidney, Thursday, May 20. Events will begin at 10 a.m.
