Hinsdale Track Has Triple-Meet Week

The Hinsdale Raiders track team had a busy week, attending three separate meets last week. Their week started on Tuesday with the North East Montana Invite held in Wolf Point, followed by the Whitewater Invitational on Friday and the Sidney Invitational on Saturday. With the exception of a sixth place finish by the girls in Sidney, the boys and girls teams placed in the top five at event.

The boys team claimed third at the North East Montana Invite, while the girls finished in fifth place. In Whitewater, the boys again claimed third while the girls were in fourth place. At the Sidney Invitational, the boys ended in fourth place and the girls finished in sixth.

The boys team racked up points from Loden Idler, Trey Johnson, Jesse Lee, Alden Albus, Jeremy Longtree, and Andrew Boucher in Wolf Point. Kaitlyn McColly, Cienna Strommen, Zora Holt, Mattea McColly, and Zandora Longtree powered the girls team.

Idler took second in the 100 meters with his time of 12.27, followed directly by Lee at 12.32 seconds. Lee outpaced Idler in the 200m, 24.51 to 24.68 as the two claimed first and second, respectively. Albus ran the 800m in 2:27.07 for a second place finish, while J. Longtree was close behind, placing fourth with a time of 2:36.82 and Boucher closed out the top six with a time of 2:50.09. J. Longtree took another fourth place, running the 1600m in 6:06.07. Johnson won the 110m hurdles, completing the race in 19.70 seconds.

Johnson placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 92'10. In the javelin, Lee placed third, throwing 121'07 while J. Longtree threw 115'11 for a sixth place finish. Lee cleared 5'08 to take second in the high jump, while over at the pole vault Idler cleared 10' for second place and Johnson vaulted 9'06 for fourth place. Idler also finished second in the long jump with a distance of 18'05.

K. McColly won the 100m in 13.92 and the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.33, nearly full two seconds ahead of her competition. Strommen ran the 800m in 3:21.97 for sixth place. Holt took fifth in the 3200m with her run of 13:37.66, a personal record for the freshman.

In field events, M. McColly placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 28-05.00. Z. Longtree threw the javelin 98'04 for a second place finish in that event. Raider girls claimed three spots in the pole vault, with K. McColly claiming another first place after clearing 9'06. Strommen cleared 6'06 for fourth place and Z. Longtree was fifth after clearing 5'. Strommen claimed a sixth place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 25'03.50.

At the Whitewater Invitational, Albus and Boucher each turned in personal records in the 400 meters, while placing third and fourth, respectively. Albus ran the race in 1:05.22 while Boucher finished in 1:08.32. J. Longtree claimed second in the 800m, running it in 2:36.57, and third in the 1600m with a time of 6:27.15.

On the field, Idler set a p.r. in the discus, throwing 35-05.25 for fifth place. Raider boys claimed fourth, fifth and sixth spots in the discus. Lee threw 104' (p.r.) for fourth, Johnson 94'05 for fifth and Albus 93'03 (p.r.) for sixth. Lee threw the javelin 116'05 for a sixth-place finish. Johnson and Idler set personal records in the high jump with Johnson clearing 5'4 for third place and Idler 5'2, tieing for fourth.

Idler, Johnson and Lee claimed the top three slots in the pole vault, clearing 11', 10', and 9' (p.r. for Lee), respectively. Lee also set a season record in the long jump with his distance of 17'03.50.

On the girls' side, Strommen ran the 800m in 3:41.9 for a sixth-place finish. Holt took fourth in the 1600m with a time of 6"54.53, and third in the 3200m with a time of 14:31.34. The girls' 4x100 relay team placed fourth as Montaya Idler, Strommen, M. McColly and Z. Longtree finished the race in 1:06.35.

In field events, K. McColly set a personal record in the shot put, throwing 30'11.25 for a fourth-place finish. She also set a p.r. in the javelin with a throw of 87'04 and a fifth-place finish. The Hinsdale senior also claimed firsts in the high jump, 4'10 (p.r.), pole vault, 10' (p.r.), and long jump, 15'10.25. Strommen took fourth in the pole vault, clearing 6', while Z. Longtree was fifth at 5'.

In Sidney, Idler knocked nearly half a second off his 100m time, finishing in 11.80 and second place. Lee placed sixth with a time of 12.15. At Saturday's meet, Idler just edged out Lee in the 200m, taking second place with a time of 24.20 while Lee was third at 24.48.

On the field, Lee took second in the high jump after clearing 5'10. Idler was fourth in the pole vault at 11', while taking second in the long jump, 19'08 (p.r.)

K. McColly won both the 100m and 300m hurdles with times of 15.24 and 47.83. She cleared 9'06 in the pole vault for a second place finish and won the triple jump with a personal record of 34'00.50.

The Hinsdale Raiders are scheduled to attend the Whitewater/Saco Invitational in Glasgow this Friday, April 30 with field events at 10 a.m. and track events starting at 10:30 a.m.
