Wolf Point played host to the Academic Olympics last Wednesday, March 24. Glasgow took two teams to compete against Malta, Plentywood, Poplar, Sidney and Wolf Point. Team 1 consisted of seniors Wil Knierim and Blake Sigmundstad, junior Blaire Westby, sophomore Lane Thompson, and freshman Quincy Walls. Team 2 members were senior Keevan Sibley, juniors Bergen Miller and McKenna Strommen, sophomore Riley Smith and freshman Tanner White. Glasgow’s Team 2 took Second Place on the team test, which combined scores from all four written exams covering English, Math, Science and Social Studies.
Individually, Miller took first place in English,, Math and tied for first with Sigmundstad in Science. He placed sixth in Social Studies. Strommen claimed fourth place in English. Sibley took sixth in Math while Sigmundstad, Knierim and Thompson tied for ninth in the category. Smith placed fifth in Science and Thompson came in at eighth place. Knierim was second in Social Studies, Strommen placed fifth and White claimed ninth place.
