Dear Valley County,
The Valley County Commissioners have asked the County Planning Board to undertake an update to the Valley County Growth Policy. The current policy was first adopted in 2006. The County Growth Policy will serve as the County's guidance document for economic development, local services, infrastructure, and land use.
The updated County Growth Policy will assist the County in applying for public grants and other funding sources for infrastructure improvements and as the basis for updating or creating County land use regulations.
The County Planning Board has developed a preliminary draft of the Growth Policy update and it is ready for public review. The public can access the preliminary document online after March 31st at http://www.valleycountymt.net.
The Planning Board has scheduled two open houses and one combination open house/hearing to gather public input and answer questions regarding the draft Growth Policy. The meetings and hearing will be hosted by the Planning Board on the following dates and locations:
April 6, 2021 at the Interpretive Center in Fort Peck
April 13, 2021 at the Community Center in St. Marie
April 20, 2021 at the Glasgow Senior Center (open house/hearing)
All open houses will be at 6:00 p.m.
Please note that the Planning Board's statutorily required hearing will be combined with the open house on April 20th at the Courthouse.
