Lustre returned to the hardwood this past weekend after a two-week break. Boys coach Randy Reddig said of his Lions, "The layoff definitely showed but looking forward to the final push to the tournament."

The Lions fell to Scobey/Opheim on Feb. 2 by a score of 59-29 as the Spartans continue to own the top slot in District 3-C on the boys side of the standings. Scobey/Opheim got the jump on Lustre, taking an 18-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Spartans outscored the Lions by 10 points in the second quarter to take the 37-13 lead into the half.

After the break, the Lions came out stronger, putting up eight points to the Spartans' 10 in the third, while only getting outscored by four in the final quarter. But their second half strength was not enough to over the Spartan's early lead. Kolden Hoversland led the Lions in scoring with 13 points, followed by Elijah Lenihan with nine. Kaleb Hoversland added a three pointer, and Cayden Klatt and Alex Chen added two each.

Two days later, the Lions found their game again against the Frazer Bearcubs, winning 75 to 27. Lustre took control of the game early, going up 22- 2 in the first eight minutes. They added to their lead in the second quarter, putting up 18 more points for a 40-11 lead going into the half.

Back out on the floor, the Lions continued their scoring onslaught, putting in another 18 points int eh third quarter while holding the Bearcubs to 15. They did not let up in the final eight minutes, adding 17 points to their side of the scoreboard, while limiting to Frazer to a single point.

Kolden Hoversland again led his team, this time with 19 points. Lenihan put up 16 points and Klatt had 15. Kaleb Hoversland added eight, Jasiah Hambira had four, and Gabe Alves scored a three pointer. Bryan Chen, A. Chen, Braeden Toevs, Josh Brown and Braden Ewing scored two each.

Keein Ackerman led the Bearcubs with 15 points. John Hotomanie added six and Joseph Beston put in five. Blue Fetting scored Frazer's lone point in the fourth quarter.

The Lustre Lion boys team sit at third place with a 2-4 record in the conference and a 4-4 record overall. Frazer sits in sixth place in District 3C, 0-6 in the conference and 0-8 overall.
