Clayton M. Long passed away peacefully on December 21, 2020. Born April 18, 1933 in Big Beaver, Saskatchewan, to Ernest N. Long and Esther L. Tollefson, he was one of five children. He married Alta (Kay) Campbell on December 16, 1950 and moved to Glasgow in 1956. He farmed west of Glasgow from the early 1960s until he moved his farming operation near Nashua, Montana. He also worked for the Valley County Road Department as a road grader operator for many years until his retirement. Clayton enjoyed farming, hunting, and fishing. He also loved talking with people and telling stories.
Clayton is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Kay Long; and sons, Ross and Jess Long; sister, Bernice Coffman; and two brothers, Dale and Russell Long.
He is survived by Darlene Long; his sister, Delores Evenson; four sons, Rocky Long (Terri), Jay Long (Patty), Les Long (Sanna), and Steve Long (Jackie); daughter-in-law, Ruby McChristian; grandchildren Kelly Long, Crystal Fallat, Harry Smith (Miranda), Nathan Huff (Amy), Angie Stanley (Scott), Brandi Long, Amber Thorvilson (Dave); great grandchildren, Tanner and Connor Fallat, Zach Weed (Taylor), Devven Ramos (Taylor), Jordon Ramos, Mariah Smith, Abby and Harper Huff, Taylor and Paige Thorvilson; great, great grandchildren, Charlie Weed and Zayd Ramos; numerous nephews and nieces; and special family, Danny Paul and Bobi Jo Shores, and the extended Rhoads family.
Final service arrangements are delayed until we can gather as family and friends to celebrate the life of Clayton Long. Announcements will be made at that time.
