Phipps Named to Shrine Game Roster

Mayson Phipps continues to rack up the football honors. The Glasgow senior was one of four defensive linemen to be named to the East Roster for the 2021 Montana East-West Shrine Game. The annual football contest is scheduled to take place June 19, 2021 in Billings. The high school all-star showcase returns after the 2020 contest was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Also receiving accolades was fellow Scottie senior Dylan Nieskens. Nieskens was one of four inside linebackers named to the alternates list for the 74th Shrine Game. The Montana East-West Shrine Game is among the oldest high school all-star games in the country, running since 1947.

A Shrine Game press release said the game raises money and awareness for orthopedic and burn care at the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Spokane, Wash. Proceeds from the game have raised nearly $1 million in the last 10 years.
