Opheim FFA Happenings

What’s better than 1st place? First place in two events. The Opheim FFA traveled to Bainville for a Varsity Floriculture and Varsity Sales competition on the 14th of December. The Floriculture team consisted of Mandy Fuhrmann, Zach Fauth, Cole Taylor, and Carrie Taylor. Last year, the Floriculture team was also in Culbertson and they took 6th place. This year’s Ag Sales team included Cole Taylor, Zach Fauth, Damian Cable, and Mandy Fuhrmann. Last year, the Sales team took first place in Culbertson. The Opheim FFA was proud to learn of their first place in Sales and first place in Floriculture. “I had high expectations for the sales team, but I was pleasantly surprised with their floriculture performance.”- Chase Redfield, advisor. Overall, Opheim FFA cleaned house in Bainville. The placings for the Varsity Sales team were 1st, Cole Taylor, 3rd Damian Cable, 19th Zach Fauth, and 23rd Mandy Fuhrmann took 23rd. There were 9 teams competing in Sales and 30 competitors. The Varsity Floriculture team placings were 2nd place Cole Taylor, 6th place Carrie Taylor, 11th Mandy Fuhrmann, and 16th Zach Fauth. There were 13 teams and 41 competitors in Floriculture. Putting in 100 percent effort, hard work, and dedication is what gets results like these. The next trip for Opheim will be to Culbertson for Ag Mechanics and Job Interview competitions, and we plan on bringing our best there as well.
