Dylan Nieskens announced on Nov. 24 that he would be continuing his academic and football career at Carroll College in Helena, Mont., following his graduation from Glasgow this upcoming spring. The Scottie tight end and linebacker chose to play collegiate football with the Fighting Saints because he felt the school offered a good health science program, which he will be majoring in.
Nieskens was recently named to the Northern B All-Conference team and was selected for Class B All State honors. He will be playing in the Class B All Star game in Billings, scheduled for June, 2021. Nieskens helped lead the Scotties to their playoff berth this year and racked up 70 tackles on the season. He told the Courier, "My favorite memory was beating Columbus this year in the quarter final game."
While he will miss playing with his friends and teammates in Glasgow, he is looking forward "to getting better and playing defense." Nieskens added that another reason for choosing Carroll, was "I felt the coaches really cared about me."
Nieskens is the third Scottie this year to sign a letter of intent to play college football. He follows Mayson Phipps, who signed with Montana Tech, and Jesse Lee, who will play at MSU Northern.
