Ice Dawg Squirts Host Home Opener
The Glasgow Ice Dawg Squirts hosted their first hockey games of the season Nov. 14 and 15 at the Valley Event Center. The Helena Big Horns took all three games from the hosts, however the coaches expressed tremendous pride in their young team, noting that some players had only been on the ice a few times before their first game.
Glasgow dropped their first game against Helena by a score of 18-1. The second game saw the Dawgs down by 10 goals with a final score of 12-2. The third and final game was won by the Big Horns, also by a margin of 10 goals, 13-3. Coach Carin Barnett said, "The improvement that the kids made over the three games was fantastic!" The team has four first-year Squirts players and has added four brand new skaters to the team. Ellery DeDobbeleer led the team, putting the puck in net each game.
With a group of coaches working together and focusing on individual skill development while making sure their players have fun on the ice, this young team looks forward to an exciting season.
