The Glasgow Kiwanis “Thunder” Swim Team rolled into Sidney this past weekend to finish off their altered season with a bang. Competing with nine other teams—Malta, Chinook, Harlem, Lewistown, Roundup, Sidney, Scobey, Glendive and Plentywood—the Thunder brought 26 of Glasgow’s finest to the pool ending the season off with a few top spots and a few more podium finishes.

Head coach Ethan Shrader had great things to say about how they ended the season.

“Every swimmer swam their best races, and our team looked amazing throughout the year,” said Shrader. “Everyone dropped time in every race, and they swam with all their hearts. I am so proud for the opportunity to have coached such wonderful swimmers all season, and look forward to being back next year.”

Highlights for the weekend included three-time champ in the form of Dalton Sand’s top spot finishes in the 50-meter butterfly, the 200-individual medley and the 100-meter freestyle. Also finishing on the podium were Haleigh Huntsman with a gold in the 50-meter breaststroke and silver in the 50-meter backstroke. Abigail Kulczyk finished second in the 50 butterfly and third in the 100-meter fly.
