Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Dear Editor,
I seldom write letters to the editor, especially in regard to political races. However, after continually being frustrated by positions taken by Casey Knudsen, our current Montana HD 33 Representative, on health care legislation during his term in the Montana legislature, I feel compelled to voice my opinions of the HD 33 race for the Republican primary.
I have been a hospital administrator for 35 years, the last 22 in Glasgow, Mont. During that time I have had great relationships with legislators representing the communities I serve. The vast majority have sought and listened to healthcare representatives on issues that might impact the healthcare delivery system that serves our community. Even on issues where there has been disagreements, their positions were based on logic, reason, and sound science rather than on the political ideology of factions of their political party. Sadly, that has not been the case since 2017 when Mr. Knudsen was elected.
This is the reason I am endorsing the candidacy of Joyce Stone, RN, for the Republican nomination to represent Montana HD 33. Joyce is a seasoned nurse who will consider the needs of the community she represents and will listen to those she serves to craft sound healthcare policy. Policy that supports a fragile rural healthcare delivery system, allowing providers to fulfill their important mission of caring for their communities while also protecting the communities' critical economic infrastructure. Joyce understands healthcare from both the professional and patient perspectives. Joyce's heart and mind will be on what is best for the community as a whole.
Please join me in voting for Joyce Stone to be our next Montana HD 33 Representative. Her experience, expertise, and caring attitude has made her an excellent nurse. These qualities also make her the strongest choice to represent the communities she will serve.
Sincerely,
Randall G. Holom
Glasgow, Mont.
