Only Two Drama Entries Leads to No Team Score
The Glasgow High School Speech and Drama teams traveled to Circle on Nov. 23 for that school's invitational competition. Taking along 13 competitors in speech and only two in drama, the team again claimed a first place ranking for the speech team keeping that side of the event's perfect season alive. They let go of their perfect drama record by default, however, since the team did not enter enough competitors to rack up team points for the overall trophy.
The speech team has now claimed four consecutive first place trophies at every Class B competition held this year giving them the equivalent of a perfect season so far. Until this most recent competition in Circle, the Drama team had matched that record, racking up points with a deep pool of orators and thespians.
"It went well," said head coach for the Scotties, Jodi Griffin. "Some of our kids were unable to attend this meet but we still had good results."
The Scottie Orators will head to Fort Benton, after a break for the holiday weekend, on Dec. 7.
"We have a weekend off which will be a good break for the kids," said Griffin. "and then we are in Fort Benton. There should be some good competition there as it is a big meet and more schools from the west will be there. The kids have not been up against very many teams from the west."
