GHS Media Class Tours KRTV to Learn About Career Ops

The Glasgow High School Media Class traveled to Great Falls on Nov. 17 to be on set at KRTV News in Great Falls Nov. 18. According to class teacher, Rod Karst, the goal of the trip was to expose the students to various career opportunities encompassing the skills they were learning in class.

They also had the opportunity to test their ability at deduction at Escape the Falls Escape Room. Basically, the goal is to escape a locked room with a team by solving clues and puzzles in under an hour – a more laid back version of the movie Saw. According to Karst, his team escaped with 11 minutes and 28 seconds to spare. The other team however, failed to get out in the allotted time. The class used Perkins and Vo-Ed grant funds to pay for the trip.

Karst said the grants are used by the vocational classes to enhance their program offerrings. Those programs include business ed, family and consumer sciences and industrial arts.
