Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
In support of up and coming artists, the Wheatgrass Arts & Gallery is excited to host Halle Paige Reddig as its October Artist of the Month.
Seventeen-year-old Halle grew up in Lustre, Mont. Like many artists, as a child Halley would spend hours painting and coloring. Eventually her abilities and dedication to her art matured to the level of sketching lifelike images of those objects around her. By the time she was a sophomore at Wolf Point High School, art became a serious endeavor for her. Fortunately for Halle, her art teacher, Vivia Schultz, recognized Halle's artistic potential. Halle credits her successes to her art teacher who "really pushed me."
By her junior year, Ms. Reddig had won several awards for art including the MonDak Youth Art Show in Sidney, Mont., which features artwork from the seventh through 12th grade students from area schools. In this competition, Halle placed first in acrylics and first place in her grade. Later, Halle won Overall Winner of the National Johnson O'Malley Association art competition. In addition, Halley also won a competition and got to paint a board for the Native American Veteran Memorial in Poplar, Mont.
Appreciatively, Ms. Reddig claims "none of this would have been accomplished without my art teacher Vivian Schultz who pushed me to do these competitions and believed in me."
Please join us Friday, Oct. 4, at the Wheatgrass Arts & Gallery, 523 2nd Ave. So., 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in supporting this special youth in the arts.
