Scottie Pride On Full Display

The Glasgow Chamber of Commerce has decked the streets in Scottie Pride this year. The idea to order 100 flags from the Glasgow Student Council came up over the summer with the Chamber Board from member and Scottie Athletic Director Brenner Flaten.

He said, "this was an idea that just came to me in the middle of the summer when driving down Main Street and taking note of how many flag holders are already in place. I have always loved that Glasgow and National Honor Society put up American flags for Independence Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and 9/11. So I thought about a way of getting 100 Scottie flags for the community and thought it would really add to all of the 'School Spirit' that our town already shows."

After pitching the idea to Chamber's Executive Director Lisa Koski and the Student Council's Advisor Rod Karst, the two agreed and the plan moved forward. "The Board approved the purchase of 100 Scottie flags and poles while Rod Karst agreed to purchase the flags through Student Council. GHS Stuco gets a little financial benefit from the transaction, but at the same time found us a great deal that is affordable for the Chamber," stated Flaten. Flaten made sure to throw in, "Look for the Scottie Flags on display this week! Individual flags can also be purchased at GHS anytime for $25 per flag. They work great as a display on your house. Go Scotties!"
