Teachers, Staff and Community Enjoy A Night Out After Back to School

After a long day of getting back into the school routine for students, staff, parents and community members, people of all ages came out to the Busted Knuckle on Aug. 21 to enjoy a dinner of Eugene's Pizza, delicious drinks for all ages at the Busted Knuckle, corn hole and Bergie's ice cream with local law enforcement for dessert for the monthly Alive at Five event.

With musical entertainment for the night provided by Seasons, out of Wolf Point, the evening allowed everyone to unwind and celebrate the last days of summer. Organizers of the event, The Glasgow Chamber, Two Rivers and the Glasgow Downtown Association, also provided the opportunity for school employees to enter to win a giveaway package, which included a growler and fill from the Busted Knuckle, $50 gift card to Sleeping Buffalo, $50 gift card to Robyn's Nest, $25 gift card to the Cottonwood Inn and a Eugene's Pizza t-shirt. The lucky winner was Desiree Johnson, special education staff member at Glasgow High School.

"It was a great turnout once again!" said Executive Director of Two Rivers Keegan Morehouse. "We were very pleased with the band!" Attendees shared the same sentiment stating "I loved how I didn't have to cook dinner tonight after a long day at school!" said an area teacher. "The kids are able to get out, see their friends, have fun, while we can relax!" exclaimed another attendee.

In addition to having the opportunity to enjoy good food, good company and good weather, local law enforcement, including Glasgow Police, Valley County Sheriff deputies and the Montana Highway Patrol, served 12 gallons of Bergie's ice cream to those of all ages. "It went excellent!" exclaimed Glasgow Police Department Chief Brien Gault. "We served all 12 gallons within a couple of hours. We had ordered 200 ice cream cups and quickly went through them. We had to then resort to serving ice cream in big styrofoam cups instead!" stated Gault. Glasgow Police, Valley County Sheriff deputies and the Montana Highway Patrol will also be hosting Coffee with a Cop this fall at local coffee shops.

The last Alive at Five event will be on Wednesday, September 18, at First Community Bank from 5 to 8 p.m. with live music from the Fourth Street Band out of Glasgow.
