Good Clean Fun

Valley View Nursing Home hosted their annual community barbecue to celebrate the community in Valley County and to provide some good clean fun for residents, area families, community members, even letting the kids blow off steam. Held last Wednesday, June 26, the BBQ, sponsored by the Valley View Home foundation, featured pulled-pork sandwiches, music and games, including a chalk-bag fight between the dozens of kids in attendance and a few adults.

"The BBQ went well," said Thompson. "Almost too well." He explained that the group had anticipated serving only 500 plates – at least that was the budget – but they ended up handing out 550 servings. Nevertheless, the event was a success and the Valley View community and staff were on top of the event.

"The best part were the children playing games and getting dirty," said Thompson, "Our Valley View residents were out, enjoying watching everyone and they complimented our staff profusely on our event... the Valley View Home staff displayed a sense of teamwork from all departments and all may have worked hard but they also had fun doing so."
