Post-Season Just One Week Away
The Lady Scottie softball team was on the road to Havre for a pair of games on May 4. They were matched up against two entirely different teams for the day, facing the Conrad Cowgirls and the Shelby Lady Coyotes. At the conclusion of conference play for the season, the Cowgirls are seeded third and the Lady Coyotes are seeded ninth.
Conrad dominated over Glasgow and defeated the Scotties 19-3 in four innings.

Chloe Moore – 2 at-bats, 2 hits, 2 singles.
Glasgow took advantage of Shelby's inadequacies, defeating the Lady Coyotes 22-7 in five innings.
While the bats were hot for all of the girls during this game, Laura Ross had another phenomenal showing at the plate. In her four at-bats, the GHS junior hit two dingers and brought in eight runs. Defensively, Ross picked off a runner at first base, and was instrumental in denying two separate runners' attempts to steal second.

When asked about the team's struggle to find consistency and solid footing on the diamond, head coach Ryan Hartwell pointed to mental weaknesses. “I really just think they need to work on being mentally tough and handle making mistakes on the field,” he explained. “Right now it's like they are not able to recover when they make a mistake.”
He did praise the girls for an improvement in their overall energy on the field. “They are really showing more intensity and hustle. They are getting better at backing each other up,” he said.
Hartwell also highlighted the efforts of Abby Engstrom and Meranda Bechel, who both worked on the mound for Glasgow in the absence of Aurora Chappell. “We really leaned on a freshman and a sophomore to get us through the weekend and they both did a good job for us.”
Following a game in Sidney on May 7, the Scotties will be on the road again to Butte for a tournament on Friday and Saturday, May 10 and 11. The tournament will feature 33 teams and Glasgow is expected to play four games over the weekend.
