The Glasgow Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture's Northeast Montana Ag Expo drew a crowd of participants, businesses and vendors last Friday, Oct. 12. The event, which is coordinated by the Chamber, hosted vendors and business displays as varied as implements and trucks to electrical safety and seasonal employment assistance.
The event also featured guest speakers and nationally recognized experts on agriculture and farm safety. The opening speaker was Tommy Grisafi who covered "risk management strategies." Grisafi is a commodity risk management advisor for Advance Trading in Indiana. The closing national speaker was Andy Vance who gave a presentation titled "As the World Turns: Ag & Trade Policy in the Trump Era." Vance was described in event literature as, "A compelling speaker and expert commentator, Andy helps audiences understand how to understand the often-distinct perspectives of farmers and consumers."
Other presentations included break out sessions that focused on issues key to agriculture and the business surrounding ag production. Others presentation titles included, "Keeping the Farm in the Family," "Staying Safe in the Agricultural Workplace" and "Pulse Protection from Amphanomyces."
The event culminated with an evening of honors, a Prime Rib dinner, and music by the band River North.
