State Competition on the Horizon for Scottie Harriers

The Glasgow cross country team pulled double duty this past week with the Capital City 7 of 7 meet in Helena on Oct. 4 and the Miles City Invitational on Oct. 6.

Although most of the Scottie runners enjoy the 7 of 7 meet in Helena because it is an entirely different format than other meets, they also acknowledge that it is a difficult course. Essentially seven boys and seven girls race against each other and earn points for their team based on their finishing positions. Colton Pewitt, who competed in race number seven for Glasgow, explained that he enjoyed being able to compete against some AA schools at the event. "I didn't do the best," he said, "but it was a fun meet." Pewitt did, however, do well in Miles City where he achieved a personal best time.

Coming up for the Scottie harriers is a Friday, Oct. 12 meet in Harlem. Katie Kaiser, who attended both meets this past week as well, is ready to run in Harlem this weekend, and at the state meet next weekend in Missoula. When asked if she is ready for the end-of-season competition, she answered, "I think you get results based on the training you do throughout the season. If you work hard and do your best at practices, you'll do well in competition."
