Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Are the neighbors calling and texting because they need a babysitter? Is your child anxious to begin babysitting but you aren’t sure if he/she is quite ready?
Babysitting Boot Camp may be just what you are hoping for. MSU Extension Agent Roubie Younkin will host a Babysitting course Thursday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., where potential babysitters will learn the basics in child care, safety, nutrition, child development and business aspects.
While CPR is not a part of this class, basic first aid will be covered including burns, illness, falls and poisoning. Basic cooking skills will be included as the participants make their own lunch and snacks. The class will be held in the Community Room of the Valley County Courthouse. There is a $15 fee to cover the cost of supplies, snacks and lunch. Please contact the Valley County Extension Office to pre-register your child for the course.
Make sure your child has what it takes to be the best babysitter ever.
