Buck Naked Wins Ranch Rodeo

The 2018 Ranch Rodeo was held at the Valley County Fairgrounds July 28. Six teams competed in six events, and Team Buck Naked (Chante Weeding, Trevor Saylor, Walter Phipps, Courtney Phipps and Tucker Harmon) emerged as the overall winner by the end of the evening, followed by Wittkopp Angus (Curt Wittkopp, Clay Nagel, Flint Hance, John Hubing and Stacy Harris) in second place.

Also competing for the cash prizes were Glasgow Stockyards, Inc. (Dakota Gaustad, Sterling Brown, Josh Halko, Chance Hill and Josey Uphaus), Pierson Quarter Horse (Bo Pierson, Rod Paschke, DJ Martin, Julie Paschke and Clint Weeding), Salveson Ranch (Ken Salveson, Ted Brown, Curt Bruckner, Jana Tihista and Jesse Bensen) and Shot in the Dark (Gram Weeder, Emma Weeder, Sterling Grosskops, Tyrell Waddington and Jessica Waddington).

Clint Weeding had the Best Ranch Horse and Stacy Harris was named the Best Ranch Hand, and both earned buckles for the recognition.

The teams participated in branding, trailering, doctoring, wild cow milking, double mugging and late for work, which was a new event this year.
