Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming June primary election is Monday, May 7. If you are not registered to vote by the deadline, you can still register to vote in the upcoming November election, but you will not receive a ballot for the primary.
The only local race that will require a primary vote is the Valley County Commissioner race to fill the seat being vacated by Bruce Petersen. There are seven candidates vying for a shot at that seat. The primary will also decide the statewide Democrat and Republican nominees for U.S. House of Representative and Senate, as well as the nominees for statewide offices like Public Service Commissioner and Clerk of the Supreme Court.
You can register to vote in-person at the Valley County Clerk and Recorder’s Office at the courthouse or by mailing a voter registration application, found at sos.mt.gov, to the Clerk and Recorder’s Office at 501 Court Square Box 2, Glasgow, MT 59230.
Also in local elections, the deadline to vote in the Valley View Hospital District; Nashua, Opheim, Hinsdale, Frazer and Glasgow school district’s levies and school board elections; and the St. Marie Water District is all due by 8 p.m., on May 8.
The school district levies and school board election ballot must be turned into the respective school district, while the other ballots can be turned into the Valley County Clerk and Recorder’s Office.
