Frank David Martin

Frank David Martin, age 84, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018.

He was born to Prosper Martin and Maude "Sherry" Martin Nov. 15, 1933, in Scobey, Mont. He attended school in Flaxville and transferred to Nashua High School his last four years because of their sports program.

He joined the Marine Corps in 1953 and was stationed in Jacksonville, Fla., Memphis, Tenn., and El Toro Calif. He loved his country and was proud to be a Marine.

He married Betty Whitbread in 1954 in Glasgow. They would have celebrated their 65th anniversary on the 8th of May. They were blessed with three beautiful children, Connie Jane, Gary David and Sharlee Maude.

After his time in the service, he worked for the Great Northern Railroad - Northern Pacific and retired the day it became The Northern Pacific Santa Fe. He worked 40 years for the railroad service. His son and grandson have followed in his footsteps.

He loved to compete in all things in life. In sports, racquet ball became his most favorite, winning many trophies in Montana and Canada. He and Betty loved to travel, researching family history.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; one son, Gary and his wife, Jackie; one daughter, Sharlee; two grandchildren, Celeste and her husband, Chris, and Logan and his wife, Brianna; and five great-grandchildren, Zelha, Iliana, Emery, Anker and Micaiah.
