Darrel L Linner, 77, of Fort Peck, Mont., passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, March 3, 2018. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Fort Peck.
He was born May 24, 1940, to Theodore and Viola (Hasner) Linner of Wolf Point, Mont. After graduating from high school, he then served in the US Navy. Thereafter he married Sharon Olson and they made their home in Wolf Point where he worked for the State Highway Department for 30 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, mowing lawns, fishing, hunting, playing cards and visiting with friends over a hot cup of coffee. He will always be remembered by his funny sense of humor, his presence on the sidelines of his kids' and grandkids' sporting events and always having room for peanut butter cookies.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; his parents, Theodore and Viola Linner; a sister, Dorothy Hagestad; two brothers, Dennis and Donald; and a grandson, Karson.
Survivors include four children: Dawn Thompson and her husband, Wes, of Ray, N.D., Donovan Linner of Minot, N.D., DoDee Oxarart and her husband, Dennis, of Malta, and Daron Linner and his wife, Christie, of Billings; 11 grandchildren: Cassie, Alexandra and her husband, Chase, Tyler, Alexis, Meghan, Tanner, Abbey, Avrey, Kooper, Stockton and Kazner; and one great-grandchild, Finn.
