Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Tim Newton recently made a gift of $10,000 to the FMDH Foundation in memory of his wife, Karen Newton. This was a very generous surprise and will be added to the endowment account, where only the dividends and interest will be spent to further provide Valley County with the best medical equipment possible. The Foundation is extremely grateful for this wonderful gift and Tim and Karen's name will be added to the Foundation's Wagon Train Wall of Honor located by the Glasgow Clinic.
Karen passed away, unexpectedly, on Sept. 8, 2016, at FMDH at the age of 66. Tim and Karen were married on Aug. 3, 1974. They welcomed their son, Andy, in 1980, followed by daughter Dyan in 1982. Over the years, they have both been very active in our community helping students, being a member of Soroptomists, serving on the FMDH Board of Directors and the list goes on. Their dedication to Valley County was ongoing. Even during a time of loss, Tim looked at the bigger picture and wanted to better Valley County through this donation.
When I was visiting with Tim and asked him if I could do a story on this wonderful gift he said, "Yes, I hope that it generates more gifts for the Foundation. That's how I look at it, if this donation can inspire more donations, then it's all worth it."
