Scotties Defeat Malta, Unable to Stop Wolf Point

The Scottie boys earned a good win vs. Malta on Jan. 12, but fell just short of besting Wolf Point the following night.

Junior Cade Myrick came to play, and scored double digits in both contests - 21 points vs. Malta and 16 points vs. Wolf Point. Senior Alex Fransen contributed 11 points both nights, and Kobe Sibley sunk 11 in the contest vs. Wolf Point.

The boys have some work to do at the charity stripe as they completed just 43.8 percent in the game vs. Malta and 35.7 percent vs. Wolf Point.

Defensively, the Scotties didn't have to work very hard to stop the Mustangs on Friday, finishing with just 12 fouls. The game against Wolf Point was more physical, however. The team finished with a total of 22 fouls and both Bryce Legare and Tim Wageman were sent to the bench after earning the maximum five fouls allowed.

The Scotties are 2-2 in conference play with a 4-6 overall record, placing them right in the middle of the standings for 2B. The boys will play the Sidney Eagles in Sidney on Friday, Jan. 19, then host the North Country Mavericks for "superhero night" on Saturday, Jan. 20.
