Virgie Schweigert, 97, of Glasgow, Mont., passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, in Faith Lutheran Home, Wolf Point, Mont.
As per her wishes, she has been cremated. A celebration of her life is being planned for this March.
She was born July 21, 1920, in Twila, Ky., and daughter to Clavin and Reney Tipton.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and most of all spending time with family and friends. She had a strong faith in God through her entire life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Irene (Reney) Tipton; husband, Jake Schweigert, Sr.; one son, Jake Schweigert, Jr.; and one granddaughter, Susan Carter.
Survivors include her daughter, Reney Carter, and her husband, Robert, of Glasgow; seven grandchildren, Darrell Schweigert of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mitchell Schweigert and his wife, Julie, of Miles City, Lori Hinton and her husband, Perry, of New Carlisle, Ind., Les Schweigert and his wife, Jenny, of Fargo, N.D., Steve Carter and his wife, Guillermina, of San Diego, Calif., Gary Carter of Billings, and Shawn Carter of Billings; and eight great-grandchildren; Chelsea, Stephenee, Stephen, Ashley, Samantha, Taylor, Tyler and Connor.
Bell Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
