In the afternoon of Jan. 3, the Glasgow City Fire Department, with assistance from Long Run Fire Department, was paged out as a result of reports of smoke in Western Drug. Four engines, one ladder truck, the command rig and approximately 16 firefighters responded. Upon arrival to the scene, the fire was located at the roof of the building. According to fire chief Brandon Brunelle, the fire was started as a result of someone heating the rain gutters with a blowtorch. No injuries were reported and Western Drug is back open for business.
