Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Would you like to donate a few hours of your time this holiday season and pay it forward? The Soroptimists has the perfect opportunity for you! Please consider making a donation to the annual Block of Bucks on Friday, Dec. 8. If you have a couple of hours to spare on Saturday, Dec. 9, consider assisting local families shop for much needed winter clothing.
The Sopromists, along with student council members and representatives from local businesses including: Cape Air, Leader Aviation, Eugene’s, Sam and Jeff’s, Milk River Activity Center and Fish Wildlife and Parks, will be at the intersections of D&G Sports & Western and the Post Office to collect donations between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
This year, there are 126 families with 318 Valley County children participating in Block of Bucks. These families and children will shop for much needed winter clothing at participating stores with the donations that are received. Manager of Sam and Jeff’s Shyanne Wallace states “ On behalf of the Sam and Jeff’s team, we are honored to be collecting donations for Block of Bucks. This fundraiser truly demonstrates what an incredible community we are part of! The Soroptimist organization does a great job of organizing this fundraising event each year and we are so thankful that we were asked to participate. The Glasgow community’s generous support is simply awesome!”
Valley County proves time and time again their hometown pride thru volunteering and fundraising, making events such as Block of Bucks a success. Last year, over $30,000 was raised to help children in our area buy essential winter clothing.
If you are bustling around on Friday, please consider dropping a donation with a volunteer or if you would like to volunteer to be a shopper Saturday, Dec. 9, just show up at the Elks by 8:45 a.m.
