Susan Jean Denise Ginther, 69, of Belleville, Ill., passed away Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.
She was born April 4, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., to the late Col. Charles E. and Eileen (Caldwell) Woodford.
She was a very kind and generous person. She enjoyed a lifelong love of travel, cooking, gardening and sewing. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include daughters, Michele Koch and her husband, Matthew, of Columbia, Ill., and Cynthia Higgerson of Belleville; one brother, Paul Woodford and his wife, Donna, of Tucson Ariz.; two sisters, Mary Honrud and her husband, Dennis, of Opheim Mont., and Charleen Biester and her husband, Larry, of Jackson, Mo., and Cecilia Boos and her husband, John, of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Kristen Kramper and her husband, Tim, Joshua Sullivan, Brittany Luster, Mckinze and Alyssa Goldman and Grace Higgerson; great-grandson, Joshua O'Dell Jr.; a stepmother, Lois (Leming) Woodford of Cape Girardeau; and two stepsisters, Kathleen Bertrand and her husband, David, and Janet Rigdon and her husband, Dave, all of Cape Girardeau.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson. A visitation was held from noon until the time of services, followed by burial at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
