Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Glasgow’s very own Ken Burns, documentarian Shawn Newton, is back on television with an encore presentation of the first installment of Under the Big Sky, a Montana Television Network series, exploring the stories of people and communities who thrive here in the state.
If you missed the initial broadcasts, Episode 1 will air on KRTV and all CBS affiliates statewide Saturday, Sept. 30, at 6:30 p.m., and 10:35 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 1, at 10:35 p.m.
Also rolling out: During the 10 p.m. news on Sunday, the first preview of Episode 2 will air. Episode 2 features stories on the Fort Peck Summer Theater, Don Greytak, a Rockwell-esque pencil artist based in Havre, and Jason Cajune, a custom drift boat builder located in the Paradise Valley. The full episode will air in December.
Newton and his team completed this round of filming in early August and he claimed over coffee at the Loaded Toad recently that they logged more than 4,000 miles visiting 18 counties to conduct the 27 interviews needed to tell just 15 stories. I’d say the least we can do is tune in.
