Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
The third annual Paint Run/Walk will be on Saturday, Aug. 19, in Glasgow. The run/walk is a 2.5 mile untimed event highlighted by participants being sprayed with powdered paint at various points along the course. The event is jointly sponsored by Glasgow High School Student Council and the Glasgow Recreation Department. The run/walk, for the third year in a row, is a fundraiser for the Warriors on the Water Project, and all proceeds will benefit the organization.
The race will begin in front of the Glasgow Civic Center and proceed north for two blocks, before turning left and heading west on 2nd Ave. South. At the edge of town, participants will turn left and follow the Levee around the south side of Glasgow. The course will pass behind the hospital and the Glasgow Civic Center. At the corner of 2nd Ave. South, participants will turn left and pass in front of the Milk River Activity Center, the Glasgow Police Department, Glasgow Elks Lodge and finish in the parking lot across the street from the Elks.
All participants are required to check in prior to the race at the Glasgow Civic Center stage area starting at 8 a.m. The race will start at 9 a.m. No alcohol is permitted and the race will be held on schedule regardless of weather conditions. Participants are asked to wear a white T-shirt in order to allow a masterpiece to be created from the powdered paint.
The entry fee to participate is $25 through Aug. 7, and will be $30 thereafter for each participant. The entry fee does include a Paint Run/Walk Race T-shirt. Long sleeve shirts are available for an additional fee of $5.
Entry forms can be found at BS Central, D & G, First Community Bank, all Glasgow Ezzie’s locations, Flip Burgers & Treats, The Glasgow Courier, Glasgow Chamber Office, Glasgow Recreation Department, Holiday and Taco Shack.
All entry forms and entry fees need to be submitted to either the Glasgow Recreation Department or mailed to Rod Karst at 54271 US Hwy 2 East #28, Glasgow MT, 59230. Checks need to be payable to Glasgow High School.
Make sure to sign up to not only benefit a great cause but to also get out and enjoy one of the last few weekends of the summer.
