Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
On June 4, Glasgow area cycling enthusiasts will participate in a global event designed to encourage traveling by bicycle and spending the night at a campground, park, hotel, bed and breakfast, hostel, friend’s house or backyard.
Bike Travel Weekend is being spearheaded internationally by the Adventure Cycling Association and locally by TBID, FMDH, Busted Knuckle Brewery, the Glasgow Police Department and the Glasgow Downtown Association.
The schedule includes a free leisure bicycle ride to the new Smith Park bicycle camp at 11:30 a.m. The 24-mile trip begins at the Busted Knuckle Brewery and proceeds along the Tampico Hwy. It is recommended for ages 13 and up and there will be a shuttle for anyone who isn’t able to complete the entire ride.
At 1 p.m., a youth ride is scheduled beginning in the parking lot across from the Elks. Anyone under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult.
Beginning at 2 p.m., there will be root beer floats, brews and barbecue at the Busted Knuckle Brewery.
Participants are invited to pitch tents at the new bicycle camp, located on Hwy. 2 across from the Cottonwood Inn & Suites.
