Judge Yvonne Laird handed down sentences in two unrelated drug cases on March 6 in District Court. The two men were both convicted of charges of possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute. Cody Tolliver, originally from Great Falls, was sentenced to five years in state prison for criminal possession of dangerous drugs. Authorities found Tolliver in possession of over 200 grams of methamphetamine in his vehicle with an estimated street value of around $40,000. Tolliver was also on supervision for a prior felony at the time of his arrest.
Also sentenced was Shannon Emeline. Emeline was sentenced to 10 years with the Department of Corrections for his charge of criminal possession with intent to distribute. This was Emeline’s third distribution conviction in 12 years. His judgement also included the forfeiture of $12,000 cash and his vehicle to the Muddy Water Task Force. Judge Laird also referred Emeline to Nexus, a drug treatment center for inmates located in Lewistown.
