Lady Ice Dawgs Fall to Watford City

Fossum Recognized as Lone Senior

The 19U Lady Ice Dawgs played one home game this past weekend when they faced off against the Watford City Oilers Feb. 19.

The girls were out-shot by Watford City 38-17. In the net, Kassie Moore was able to stop 30 of the shots on goal for the Ice Dawgs.

Scoring for Glasgow was Lexi Pehlke with the first goal of the game, assisted by Teagan Fossum in the first period.

The Oilers responded with seven goals in the first and second periods to secure a hefty lead going into the final 17 minutes of the game.

Kennedy Schmidt opened up the third period when she hit the back of the net off of an assist from Emily Kolstad and Madison Knodel. The Lady Ice Dawgs could not penetrate the defense of Watford City, however, and it would be the last goal for the hometown team. The Oilers capped off their score with a final goal at 5:55, bringing the score to the final 8-2.

Prior to the game, the Lady Ice Dawgs honored their lone senior player, Teagan Fossum. Fossum has participated in Hi-Line Youth Hockey for several years and has been a key defenseman for the team. Escorting her on the ice for the event were her parents, Janel and Steve, and her brother Kaden.
