Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Grace Adeline Squires

Grace Adeline Squires spent her life preparing to meet her Lord and Savior. She left this world peacefully on Tuesday morning, Dec. 20, 2016, to do just that.

A memorial service will be held in Glentana in June of 2017.

She was born on May 13, 1929, in Glasgow, Mont., to Harry and Pansie (Phelps) Squires. She was the seventh of 11 children who grew up on a farm south of Opheim. After graduating from Opheim High School in 1947, she then entered the Sisters of Humility of Mary Convent in Ottumwa, Iowa. She retired from her order in 1962. During her 87 years, she was a Catholic Nun, teacher, counselor, housekeeper and caretaker.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Lorraine Johnsen, Leone Eid and Evelyn Bies; brothers, Bernard, Phillip and David Squires.

Survivors include four sisters, Allie Russell and her husband, Stan, Mary Bartley, Pat Mueller and Rhoda Campbell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

We know you are in the loving arms of Jesus, Grace. We will see you again someday.
